The Knickerbockers march in the Veteran's Day Parade

Revolutionary Then, Revolutionary Now!

Who We Are and What We Do

The Daughters of the American Revolution is a women’s service organization dedicated to promoting historic preservation, education, patriotism and honoring the Patriots of the Revolutionary War. We welcome any woman 18 years of age and older who has descended from an American Revolutionary Patriot regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background. We look forward to helping you prove your American Revolutionary War roots and welcoming you as a Daughter!

The Knickerbocker Chapter, NSDAR, seeks to be of service to our community, other DAR chapters, and our state and national societies. We are known for rolling up our sleeves and getting to work!

Community & Connections

Chapter meetings are held on Thursday evenings, September through June.

Because our network of members spans the globe, chapter business meetings are hosted using a hybrid in-person/online model, and have been since 2017. It is important to us that Daughters feel included and connected no matter where they are or what circumstances they are experiencing.

Show up in person or hop on the call to meet an exceptional group of engaged and supporting women.

What is a Knickerbocker?

A Knickerbocker is a native or inhabitant of the city or state of New York. It is also the pseudonym under which Washington Irving wrote History of New York, a book about active American writers in the early 19th century.
